A Mindful Narrative of Strengths in Personal and Professional Development
Throughout the course you’ll learn how to use narrative, mindfulness and strengths in everyday life. This is a 4 week journey of personal and professional development where you’ll find your path, sharpen your tools and feel confident in your ability to do what you need to do. Each session is conducted live, on-line for 90 minutes and includes a combination of knowledge, skills and reflection. Session are practical and interactive. Participant numbers are kept low so each person has a chance to speak their mind and contribute to the learning. Nicole has more than 18 years in training and education settings. She knows how to keep the group on track, motivated and respectful of each other.
All classes start with a general check in and guided meditation. You’ll have brief activities to complete through the week which you’ll be invited to share. Although these activities are not compulsory, completing course work helps you embed the knowledge and skills. This is an interactive class so the more you contribute, the more you’ll learn about yourself, your world and your relationships with others.
Also included within the cost of the course is a 1:1 coaching session with Nicole. This may be booked at anytime commencement of the course and up to 2 weeks after the final class.
The first session shows you how to use narrative structure to dive deeply into your natural patterns of thought, emotion and behaviour. You’ll discover the unique qualities of your talents and be shown how to use mindfulness to build habits for success. These habits will feel natural because they’re based on your talents.
The second session looks specifically at your thoughts and emotions and how they impact your behaviour. You’ll consider defining moments in your life and how these moments and the stories you’re telling yourself about those moments impact the life you lead today.
The third session focuses on language patterns. You’ll be encouraged to listen to the words of your self talk and note the triggers that send your thoughts into looping spirals.
The forth session brings everything together and shows you how to use narrative to create the life you want to live. Using a variation of the Hero’s journey you’ll define the role of mentors and consider your motivations. As the course draws to a close, you’ll be encouraged to acknowledge and appreciate what is working in your life and may even choose to work on a larger narrative project.
Remember, self awareness is a process, not a destination. Each situation, event and encounter you experience is an opportunity. You will notice, the more you learn about yourself, the more there is to learn. This is because life is not static and you have the ability to move with it, or against it. Choosing to be the author of your story and live a mindful strengths based narrative gives you the tools to use your self awareness and take charge of your life and live the life you want to live.
